เทคนิคงานสร้างระดับฮอลลิวูดของหนังเรื่องนี้ แน่นอนว่าไว้วางใจได้เลย ถึงแม้ว่าในช่วงเปิดเรื่องแรก ๆ จะค่อนข้างไม่กลมกลินสักเท่าไหร่ สัมผัสเห็นได้เลยว่าเป็นการเซ็ตติ้งฉากเมืองไทยเกินไปสักหน่อย พร้อมกับแอบเสียดายเล็ก ๆ ว่าน่าจะได้มีโอกาสได้ถ่ายทำในเมืองไทยจริง ๆ แต่พอหนังเล่าเรื่องได้เข้าที่เข้าทางแล้วนั้น จุดเช็ตติ้งต่าง ๆ ที่เคยขัดใจก็มีองค์ประกอบอื่น ๆ มาบดบังทดแทนกันไปได้
การออกแบบถ้ำหลวงและฉากหลังต่าง ๆ ของหนังเรื่องนี้ถือว่าทำออกมาได้ค่อนข้างน่าพอใจ ถึงจะพอมองออกว่าเป็นฉากอยู่บ้าง แต่หนังก็ได้การเล่าเรื่องและดำเนินทำช่วยทำให้มองข้ามจุดเล็ก ๆ น้อย ๆ ไปได้ด้วยดี แต่กระนั้นก็ต้องยกนิ้วให้กับการเก็บรายละเอียดความเป็นท้องถิ่นไทยในหนังเรื่องนี้ เพราะสามารถทำออกมาได้แบบไม่ขัดหูขัดตา ทั้งฉากธรรมชาติและบรรยากาศโดยทั่วไป
