The film stars Tallulah Greeve, Abigail Lawrie, Rona Morrison, Sally Mescham, Marlee Sue and Eve Austin. Our Ladies premieres. At the 2019 BFI London Film Festival, its original cinema release date of March 6, 2020 was delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. before finally being released in the UK on 27 August 2021.

Michael Caton-Jones optioned Alan Warner’s 1998 novel The Sopranos. It was announced in 2018 that production on the film adaptation had begun. Caton-Jones directed the film and wrote the screenplay with Alan Sharp. The film is produced by Sigma Films, Sony Pictures International Productions and Four Point Play Pictures in association with Screen Scotland, Warner and Jennifer. Armitage from Creative Scotland executive produces and Caton-Jones executive produces with Laura. Viderman of Four Point Play and Brian Coffey of Sigma, Luke Scrase is overseeing the film SPIP.
The Lady of Perpetual Succour is, of course, the Virgin Mary herself, an icon depicting not only the Madonna but Archangels Gabriel and Michael, instruments of crucifixion, and the infant Jesus who still looks perturbed by the goings on some five centuries and change after the first recording of the work. Though the name of the institution is, one suspects, less about a connection to the Patron Saint of Haiti or any affiliation to the Redemptorists but for the opportunity to add a flavour of blasphemy to jokes about blowjobs.
